-
Yoast SEO plugin puts noindex in my AMP pages (I use AMPforWP plugin).
The Glue plugin does not work for AMPfor WP.

Hi,
We apologize for the difficulties you are having with the plugin. We would like some more information.
A. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v7.7? If you update, does the issue resolve?
B. Which AMP for WP plugin are you using?
-AMP for WP – Accelerated Mobile Pages: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/ OR
-AMP for WordPress: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/amp/
I use https://nl.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/. I have Yoast 7.7. The recent update did not solve the problem.
Hi,
The Glue plugin is only expected to work with this AMP plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/amp/ rather than the one you have. This guide explains more about how to use the Glue plugin to set it up with that AMP plugin: https://yoast.com/setting-up-wordpress-for-amp-accelerated-mobile-pages/.
In regards to Yoast SEO adding a noindex tag to your AMP pages we tested this and are not able to reproduce it:
We installed Yoast: https://pasteboard.co/HrHyWdd.png
And looked for a noindex tag on an AMP page and none were found: https://pasteboard.co/HrHz8Oi.png
Can you confirm that you have not accidentally selected the post to be noindexed? This guide explains more about how you can check: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-noindex-urls/

Google has sent me an email with a warning, because theya are throwing all of my amp pages out of the index.
Hi,
We are not sure if this is an issue with Yoast, the AMP plugin you are using or Google. We need your help.
A. Can you confirm all the pages you want to be noindexed have been done so using this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-noindex-urls/
B. Can you provide a url that Google is highlighting? We can take a closer look at it.
All amp pages of this site. The normal urls have no problems. I have no option to include noindex in AMP pages. The source code contains: <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex,follow”/>. When I deactivate Yoast, it is: <meta name=”description” content=” “/>.
Odd. We checked this amp page: view-source:https://www.huizenaanhetjanskerkhof.nl/huizen/amp/ and no ‘noindex’ tag appears: https://pasteboard.co/HrI35Hq.png.
Same with this one: https://www.huizenaanhetjanskerkhof.nl/koninginnedag-1999/amp/. See image: https://pasteboard.co/HrI4qBH.png.
And this one: https://www.huizenaanhetjanskerkhof.nl/transcriptie/amp/. See image: https://pasteboard.co/HrI4cVD.png.
Is the homepage the only page where the noindex tag appears? Can you provide other examples?
I got a whole list in the Google email, but you are right. Only the homepage has noindex, the other urls from the list are ok. Probably the 7.7. update has solved the problem for those urls.
Having same problem here, categories shows “noindex, nofollow”
You can see an example here
Can you please install and activate the official AMP plugin for WordPress from here https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/amp/ and deactivate the existing one to check whether this resolves the issue?
Closed due to lack of activity.
