    Hi,

    I’ve got three sites.

Two of my sites are working fine, but one is showing an error in the post editor. The error message reads ‘The “yoast-seo” plugin has encountered an error and cannot be rendered.’ Previous to this – my post editor wasn’t loading at all, but now it’s loading and showing this error.

I tried clearing all my caches (browser, CDN, host, etc), but the error is still there and I also can’t use Yoast within posts.

All of these sites have Yoast 19.9 installed, are running on the latest version of WordPress, and also the latest version of Generatepress theme

All sites have similar plugins except 1 or 2 plugins (which are plugins provided by Generatepress on the site that isn’t working)

Is it a problem with the latest version of Yoast, and Yoast will be fixing this bug?

I saw on another thread you suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. Would you suggest this in my situation? If I do this, will my site and all my Yoast data definitely be fine and I can do it without any worries or needing to back anything up?

Need to fix this issue reasonably quickly.

Never has an issue like this with a plugin in years, so hopefully it’s something Yoast can fix or there’s an easy fix for it.

An update on this – I’ve just gone into post editor again, and the error has completely disappeared and it looks like everything is working normally again

I didn’t make any changes or do anything – the errors just eventually disappeared

Was this just a temporary bug with Yoast for the past few hours that has been addressed, and I don’t have to worry it coming back and the issue is now solved?

    Hello @pjr101

I’m sorry about your experience with the plugin but I’m glad it has resolved on its own. Uninstalling and reinstalling won’t cause you to lose your existing SEO settings since those are stored in the database.

If it ever happens again, please consider performing a conflict check. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.
