If you want to add a new class to the event grid view you can add it in the plugin template file. Once you have added a new class, then you can add class CSS in the additional CSS.
I understand what you are saying, and still feel it’s wrong to ignore the setting in the block editor.

Can you please tell us which editor are you using? And the plugin displays events from shortcodes and widgets but will not be edited from the editor.

we have added an Additional CSS class(es) support in the plugin. please copy-paste the below-updated code In the “class-import-meetup-events-cpt.php” file.
