Hi, I added the folder with the github file, but still no translations.

See the WordPress documentation on mu-plugins:
Must Use Plugins
There are many reasons why translations may not load from an alternative location, See FAQ: Why don’t translations load from the custom folder?
If you have this problem, always check if the files load from standard locations first.
Hi there, the translations do not even show up in the standard location
wp-content/languages/plugins/, even with the mu-plugins github file installed, so something else is wrong.
I know it’s out of your scope, but if you have any other suggestions for me to try, it’s much appreciated, thanks.

The Github code won’t make any difference to loading from the standard system locations, so yes, something else is wrong.

All my suggestions for “translations not showing” are written in my FAQs. There is nothing particular about what you’ve posted that inspires me with any new suggestions.
Hi there, translations are working now, the site language has changed to default after migration, my stupid mistake.
Thanks for helping out!
