To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the full backup log?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab. The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

I’ve since deleted the clone that did not complete – since I didn’t want to waste another token. However, I’ve now spent another token to create a clone of a different site, and I have exactly the same result – the clone is not completing. Seems like I’m just wasting tokens for nothing. Please note I will also delete this clone before the 24 hours expires, so as not to waste my remaining tokens

Thanks for the update. I’ve just checked the clone link you shared, and it appears to be working fine now. It would sometimes take a while for the site to propagate.
