• Hi Frank!

I hope you are well. I received an email from YouTube telling me that “Access to YouTube API Services disabled due to inactivity” and there is a button to “request quota”. Do I need to do this? Or is it something I can ignore? Thank you for your help.

    Michael.

update to the latest version which is released to counter that issue (not keeping YouTube date in cache forever, but refreshing every 2 months) and then create a new API key to replace the disabled one?

    hope this helps,
    frank

Hi Frank, the trouble is I can’t remember how to do that 😉 I think I’ve done it now though. Thank you for your help.

I’ve noticed there is an exclamation mark next to the api key saying it is “unrestricted” – is this how it should be configured? There is also a section saying “configure consent screen” (with some text saying “Remember to configure the OAuth consent screen with information about your application.”) – is this something I should be doing also?

yes, it probably should be unrestricted (some people tried to link it to the IP of their server but that made the key not work). oauth is not needed here no.
