YouTube playlist embed not rendering

    Hi all,

    Not seen any recent posts with quite my issue, so thought I’d better ask a new question.

    I’m running a child theme using the current version of Make (1.6.6) with a self-hosted WordPress install, recently updated to the current version (4.4). I also have the Jetpack plugin installed (current version, 3.8.1).

    I have a page with a single column layout and have tried including a YouTube playlist embedded in the body of that column. I have tried both including just the URL on a single line, and using the embed shortcode [youtube=URL]. In both cases, when returning to edit the page the playlist renders as expected inside the visual editor, but not in the page when viewed (either as a preview or when saved and viewed live on the site). As per instructions, the shortcode was entered in the visual editor, not the plain text editor. I’ve checked that shortcodes for embedding are enabled in Jetpack.

    Quick update in case anyone finds this and has the same problem as me – I’ve not used the shortcode before, only the plain URL. I made a mistake! There’s no “=” character, only a space; it’s like an external link on Wikipedia. I fixed my syntax and all worked correctly.

    Note that the documentation on the use of shortcodes is a little confusing, though; while it correctly uses a space, all of the linked examples under the YouTube shortcode instructions lack a closing square bracket. Make sure you include one in yours!
