YouTube validation field

Hi! I’ve been using this plugin since the early days and I am impressed about how big it’s becoming. Congratulations again!

My question is: When the user captures a YouTube field upon registration, a video player with that video is displayed on the profile details, which is fine. This works nicely when the user enters a single video URL. The problem comes up when the user enters a YouTube channel URL, a very common situation when it comes to enter one’s social media URLs. In that case, a black video player is displayed instead, returning an error because the field is not ready to render a whole channel.

Is it possible to make the YouTube field be validated not only for single videos, but also for channels? I don’t need the video player. Even a clickable YouTube URL (as the Facebook or Twitter fields) instead of the video player would be ok.
