Sorry that you ran into issues here!
The widgets are all available under Appearance->Widgets once you have the ZIP Search module installed. The widget you want is the “Business Directory Location Search” one that says “Searches the Business Directory listings by ZIP code.”
Try that and see if it works better.
Okay, so it possible for people to search through using postcodes?
Yes, of course! We support them via:
– Widget
– Advanced search
And in 4.1, we’ll support them on the Quick Search bar as first-class displays (right now, it’s kind of weird and we’ve fixed that for the next release)

I don’t have a firm timeframe right now–it depends on one feature’s testing at the moment, which we’re waiting on something to get finished first (3rd party). Once that’s done, we can release.
