I believe this issue “may” be because of qTranslate (or in light of it). I’m still doing some debugging to verify it.
When you save the a backup, the file shows the error that is occuring.

Is there any support for this plugin?
Im having the same issue. If you remain on the settings page, it retains the settings. If you leave the settings page and return, all your settings are automatically whiped clean. Even if you try to upload a backup of the settings all the checkboxes remain unchecked (ie:default).
