ok as for the code you mention: would that be done in FTP or in wordpress? i only ask this because in wordpress, i go to appearance -> widgets and there was nothing in the sidebar to begin with … but i still had stuff in the sidebar.php and when i went to view my page again it would be there. so I erased the code in sidebar.php and now nothing is in sidebar when i viewed m page. does any of this make sense?
i’m going to try and play with my page again tonight … i’m changing the background and header now that I think i know what I really want. 🙂

In reply to: Frustrated – need assistanceohh well hubby reinstalled it for the 4th time hahaha. the problem was that when i went to log back in, i couldn’t access the editor to make necessary changes.
but he and I tried what you suggested regarding the codes to remove the stuff off the right column and it still didn’t work so we just cleared out the sidebar.php for now. 🙂

i tried explaining to hubby that i didn’t want to see that white portion or the border or lines that is the section for all posting of the page on my background and wanting the words to appear on the new background that i uploaded. I’m able to do this on blogger with no problems but either I wasn’t explaining what I wanted in wordpress …. or he wasn’t understanding what I meant. Who knows but I tried. 🙂 I’m definitely learning that’s for sure.

In reply to: Frustrated – need assistanceI know this is going to sound dumb but I’ve copied that function and placed it in theme’s functions.php and because I’m not sure where to place it, as I’ve tried several locations, It’s still not working. I even tried making adjustments and that didn’t work either. I know it has to be a user error. It’s annoying to see that extra stuff on the side of my page. =) Please HELP!!! 🙂
p.s. how do you hide “Posted in Uncategorized” after every posting? I read that it can’t be deleted.

In reply to: Frustrated – need assistanceOh not sure if this matters or not but I can tell between the wordpress.com and ww.wp.xz.cn favicons. wordpress.com is blue whereas ww.wp.xz.cn is gray which is what I have.

I looked in Dashboard, and HELP then checked the documentation as well as Support Forums. It takes me back to ww.wp.xz.cn main page and forums so I’m assuming I have and am using ww.wp.xz.cn. That being said, does that mean I can manipulate my wordpress website?
As for FTP, I went ahead and used it and so far, I’m able to get (somehow) part of the background image as well as the header. Please see, http://embracingphotography.com/ again, I’m assuming this is ww.wp.xz.cn related and therefore I can manipulate my website, is this correct? If so, what’s the EASIEST way to do so by removing the extra part I had copied off my website in the initial posting? And perhaps which theme would you recommend best that easiest to manipulate my full background image with the full header visible than the preset of that particular theme? All I’m asking is for help. I know it seems a lot but I want to so badly get this to work. Blogger is so much easier but I don’t want to use blogger for my business. Thanks again for hearing me out.

In reply to: Frustrated – need assistanceIt’s frustrating enough that I can’t get a straight answer from someone else so resorted to a forum that I feel is not doing the same as well. I don’t see why ww.wp.xz.cn/com are any different considering they’re from the same company. Sigh. Thanks anyway.
