I’m not going to have very much time over the next couple of days to sort this so I will take all of your advice and try the whole thing again mid-week.

I had done everything up until ‘You should probably deleted your root and wp-admin htaccess files…’.

This must have been why I could not login to the admin panel on the new test site.

I’ll let you know how I get on so that this ticket can be closed.
