In reply to: [abtestkit - AB testing for WooCommerce] WooCommerce variable producthi @sottovoce
Thank you very much for all the details, I’ve now added patches for the previews and the deletion of shadow products in 1.4.0.
Really appreciate the time you put in to give me the specifics of the issues, do let me know if i can help with anything else!
hi Kenny,
This comes down to how Elementor Pro applies its templates.
abtestkit keeps the original product ID for checkout/stock consistency, so Elementor still sees both Version A and B as the same product
and applies the same Single Product template to both. That means the template’s display conditions will override any layout changes made in Version B.
Because of that, testing completely different Elementor product templates per variant isn’t supported in 1.3.6.
there are a couple of options of how I could get this working, one being that you create a version b of the template in Elementor, then apply that template to version b of a product test, would that be useful to you?
The other option is to build specific Elementor template testing which would be much more complicated and further down the line.
all the best, Greg

In reply to: [abtestkit - AB testing for WooCommerce] WooCommerce variable product@sottovoce are you still referring to subscriptions?
the shadow version b is a clone of version a, but the edited attributes on B persist across previews and the live frontend. If this is not the case for you on products and variable products I’d love to dig further into your setup and why that isn’t working for you. If this is just for subscriptions I’ll need to look further into it myself if it’s just the pricing.
when you delete tests, you should be asked if you would like to delete shadow version b? Again if this is not the case, or if it’s asking you if you would like to but not actually deleting them. I’d like to look further into the site you’re using it on to get this ironed out for you!
thanks for the feedback!

In reply to: [abtestkit - AB testing for WooCommerce] WooCommerce variable productHi @sottovoce,
Thank you again for all the testing and detail here, it’s been incredibly useful!
Version 1.3.6 includes a few broader compatibility fixes around saving and previewing Version B, so it may improve some of the behaviour you saw. However, I don’t want to overstate it and claim full support for variable subscriptions until that has been specifically tested and hardened.
I’ll keep variable subscription compatibility on the roadmap, and if you do try 1.3.6 I’d still be very grateful for any feedback.
Thanks again – your testing has already helped improve the plugin.

In reply to: [abtestkit - AB testing for WooCommerce] WooCommerce variable productVariable subscriptions aren’t fully supported yet as they rely on the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin, which handles pricing and variation data differently under the hood.
I’m looking into compatibility, and have added a basic fixes for subscriptions in the 1.3.5 update that will be released tomorrow (20th April) if you can give that a go and share what specifically is/isn’t working, that would really help me prioritise and fix it properly.

In reply to: [abtestkit - AB testing for WooCommerce] WooCommerce variable productVariable products are not yet officially supported to the same level as simple products.
It is currently being working on, but don’t have an exact timeline on when it will be released. I will leave this open until such time! Thank you very much for getting in touch, I will prioritise supporting this for you.
hi Jakub,
the 1.0.4 release is now live. When creating a test and selecting your target clicks, you can select if those clicks are on the test pages (version A/B) or on a different page.
thanks for your patience,
Greg
Hey Jakub! abtestkit doesn’t currently support this but we’re already building cross-page conversion tracking and it’s scheduled for the next release on December 2nd 2025.
The update will let you:
- assign the visitor to version A or B on the test page
- track their click on a page of your choice
- attribute the conversion correctly to A or B
If you’re happy to wait a few days, this will be fully supported.
I won’t mark this as resolved for the time being, and will update you with the specifics post release.
Yes for full-page tests. abtestkit’s Page Tests are builder-agnostic (Breakdance, Elementor, Beaver Builder, Divi, Bricks, Oxygen, Classic, etc.). We simply duplicate your page and then split traffic server-side between the two URLs – no builder markup is modified and no special integration is required.
Hope that helps!
