Yes, I agree, it is complex, but there are a lot of features and options.
But – it was quite the opposite experience for us. Did you contact the developer? They bent over backwards to help us get it the way we needed it. And there are instructions and FAQ on their website at http://wpraffle.com/getting-started/
I would call them, or send an email – they got right back to me and sent a few video screen shots of how to configure. They did say they were adding more features and would be releasing updated documentation but we waiting on the new features to be done when I called them a few weeks ago.
