I’ve come up with an alternative solution. Instead of using ‘uncategorised’ as the default post category name, I changed this to ‘news’ (the name of the page that contains all of the posts). Then I added /%category%/%postname%/ to the Custom Permalink. This produces wesbiteaddress.com/news/post-name and does not affect any of the other custom post types URLs.
Just thought id share for anyone else with a similar situation.
Thanks,
AdamHi Savas
The previous solution worked only for the last scenario. For this issue, I would like to change the permalink for the default WP blog to be news. If I add ‘news’ to the sites Custom Structure, all of the custom post types are prefixed with news. e.g. /news/teams etc.
I will have to see if creating a new custom post type for ‘news’ will allow me to add /news before news posts only. It seems a shame to hack it like this but it may be the only solution at present. If it does work I will confirm back to this post for anyone else with a similar scenario.
Thanks,

Thank you so much for the recommended plugin suggestion. It works perfectly.
Many thanks, Adam
super exciting news, cant wait!
Hi @webtoffee
Your support for HTML seems to be restricted to <div> and classes only. I’ve tried to wrap the content in a <footer> tag or add role=”contentinfo” to a div but both will not save.
Perhaps your plugin should give the option to inject the markup inside of a specific object, then I wouldn’t need to change the internal makeup.
Or alternatively, consider allowing html5 syntax in tour ‘Message’ box.
Thanks – Adam

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] _wp_link_placeholder in feed linksI wouldn’t want to speculate, as I couldn’t be 100% sure it was the plugin. But what I will say, is that the only thing I had done to these posts, was to use a popular WordPress plugin to switch custom post types.
The lesson for the day, check your own post’s code before submitting tickets (not like me).

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] _wp_link_placeholder in feed linksHi Craig
Thanks for your reply. I believe I’ve found the cause of the issue and resolved it. It wasn’t anything to do with your plugin, I’m sorry. I believe it was caused by another plugin (possibly one for switching post types) that didn’t properly map the URLs across as the error was being seen in the podcast feed original for all posts. I believe updating each URL had fixed the bulk of errors and it seemed I also needed to update the URLs in the page contents as well.
Thanks for your time, and great work on the plugin.
Best regards,
