That’s the file I had been scrutinizing. Just taking the week of for vacation.
You could easily just use google custom search. I am not sure that you can return google search results, but you can return anything with a feed. You’ll want to cache the results though or it will eat up server resources.
I wanted to avoid the update to 2.9, but I did and it solved the problem.
I forgot to mention that I also disabled all ping notifications in posts, and the standard pingomatic.com feature in posting.
Update. The only time there is a problem is if the post is set to public. Which, obviously, is a fairly large problem.
