Thank you. I hope somebody fixes this soon. It used to work fine in earlier versions of WordPress.

I just found this via the search. This is also what I’m looking for.

What I’d really like is a plug-in that could pick up what I’m currently listening to via last.fm, and display the Artist : Title as the value in a custom field key on the Create Post screen at the time of posting. And if nothing is playing, don’t display anything.

I don’t want the entire Recently Played tracks list, like every other plug-in or widget seems to display.

I’d really like it if more plug-ins would use those custom fields for other kinds of information, too. Unfortunately, I am not a programmer, so I have no idea how something like this might be built.

A friend of mine is having this same problem and we’re trying to chase down the solution.

For what it’s worth, we also tried switching over to the metaweblog api, and it still doesn’t work. All other settings are according to directions from writely.com.

Has wordpress changed the api to such an extent that it is now incompatible with writely? Or is there something we can change ourselves to make posting via writely work with wordpress?

“page-by-page basis” she means you can disable comments and trackbacks just on that page via the manage / pages / editspecificpage route. Uncheck the checkboxes for comments and trackbacks in the sidebar inside the admin console while you are “editing” the page.

Ok, nevermind. I see there is an option in the fancy editor to allow me to edit out those tags via raw HTML. You can’t see that if you’re using the basic editor.

Since I need that function so seldom, at least now I know where it is. πŸ™‚

Thanks anyway, everyone who was looking.

Did you try styling the input in your css? Might check there to see if input is already being styled by the css and adjust accordingly. (Just a suggestion.)

There’s two places to enable the WYSIWYG editor. One is in Writing options and the other is in your User profile. Make the settings in those two places match and see if that fixes things. I had the opposite problem as you, I didn’t want the editor and couldn’t get rid of it… until I discovered there were two places for this setting.

Thank you for this fix! I was a little bit confused on how to apply the patch (I’m not a programmer, I’m a designer!), but I finally got it figured out, and the patch works like a dream!

Apparently, the upgrade.php uses a bit of memory.

Yes, macmanx, that’s how I found this thread.

Right after upgrading to 1.5.1.1 I got Error 12:

WordPress database error: [Got error 12 from storage engine]
    ALTER TABLE wp_posts ADD INDEX ( post_name )

WordPress database error: [Got error 12 from storage engine]
    ALTER TABLE wp_posts ADD INDEX ( post_status )
    Step 1

There’s actually only one step. So if you see this, you’re done. Have fun!

Even after repairing tables and optimizing tables. Same error when running upgrade.php

WP seems to be running fine, though. And if it’s a memory error on the server, that’s my host’s fault. I’ll tell them.

I just noticed something strange. In my entry edit screens (for both posts and pages) I am missing the “Next” button for pagination. Is this a singular quirk I’m having or is anyone else missing that button too?

Fast upgrade and I had to check to make sure it actually did increment the version number because it went so quickly. Had no problems at all. In fact, it fixed a couple of problems I’d noticed with regard to the index.php “page” listings and the blog subcategories formatting. Everything looks good now. Thanks Matt & crew. πŸ™‚
