Dear @iclyde – thank you very much for your kind and thorough reply! I actually had resolved the issue by manually downloading and uploading the backup. That worked well (except that the process never officially finished; the progress bar was stuck at some point), but my site is up and running under the new instance of WordPress, which I am very thankful for! I will gladly recommend it in the future!
So, yes, the issue is resolved! Thanks.

PS: My website is back up and running. Thank you very much for your work! It never finished the restoring process and downloading the log file doesn’t work (it gives me a txt file with the html contents of the page, but not the live log I am seeing. So: I think, it worked, but it stalled on finishing the process. Attached you find the “logfile” next to a screenshot of what I am seeing – even after letting the plug-in work over night:
