The version I’m using 6.6.0 has a text search for the plugin at the top left. It gets found here by typing ‘hide backend’ into the search box.
Alternatively on the top right there is a list of ‘All’ ‘Recommended’ and ‘Advanced’ options/modules the default view may be ‘Recommended’ click on ‘All’ then ‘Hide Backend’ will appear among the choices below. It has it’s own ‘module’.ok, have managed to clear the problem now. Seems to be something to do with cookies and the browser I was using (Firefox). Here’s what I did –
In browser Mozilla Firefox (55.0.3) – my default browser
1. ftp in and brute force removed the ithemes security plugin
2. still couldn’t log in (no error message displayed, just a red mark with no text at the login screen)Switched brower to Chrome (60.0.3112.113)
1. managed to login in to blog
2. added back in ithemes security from plugins screen, activated; ‘secure my site’
3. logged out then in again to see it was ok
4. inside ithemes security, re-enabled ‘hide backend’
5. logged out then in again to see it was okSwitched back to Mozilla Firefox
1. tried to login, still couldn’t login. Error message now saying my browser wasn’t accepting cookies
3. checked Firefox and cookies were enabled
4. Used ‘History->Clear Recent History’ to clear cookies, active logins and cache but still no luck, I couldn’t log in
5. Opened Firefox Tools->Options->Show Cookies->Remove All (manually removing them all) and this seemed to do the trick.-
I can now log in.
I think that the FF setting ‘History->Clear Recent History’ doesn’t work correctly for clearing active logins or cookies at present. Perhaps this whole problem has been a Firefox one for me.
I’ve now tried –
1. upgrading IThemessecurity to 6.6.0
2. adding define( ‘ITSEC_DISABLE_MODULES’, true ); to wp-config
3. active.php – remove whatever is in that file.still locked out of my WP blog.
I also am seeing this login lockout issue going on with my wordpress blog with hidden login an ithemes security. I run 5 others and am a bit concerned. This plugin has been quite flawless so far, but am now getting locked out of my blog with same error.
/wp-login.php?itsec-hb-token=
very annoying. Version seems to be 6.5.
