    Hi again 🙂
First of all, many thanks for helping me with this, especially as I’m on the free tier. Your time is very much appreciated. Given your last post, I have found a clunky workaround. I’ve installed Relevanssi, used that as my index, and configured my IS search form to use the default wordpress search. In this way I can have table content appear in the search results (but not using AJAX, and the table results can be some way down the list). I’ll see if I can tweak more to improve this, but it seems WPTB is searchable in some way. I’ve raised this issue with the WPTB devs but have no reply as yet.

    Kind regards,
    Alan

Hi, thanks for the reply. Following your suggestion, I’ve created a new table using WP Table Builder with some random text in it (It’s the words “Harlequins” and “Esterhuizen”, text that exists nowhere else in the web site). I’ve pasted the shortcode to the new table [wptb id=7274] in a new web page. The web page has no other content other than the shortcode.

I’ve added my default IS search form to the top of my home page (its usually in the web site masthead).

I’ve ensured that the “Expand Shortcodes” option is ON, and saved the config. I’ve ensured that my default search form is using Inverted Index and saved the config. I’ve re-indexed, which is now showing its indexed 2504 items (previously 2503) and 1797 terms (previously 1792). But the search form still isn’t finding the text in my new table.

If I delete the test page (but not the table) and re-index, then IS tells me its indexed 2503 items (as it was previously) and 1782 terms. Not sure what’s going on with the terms, but the fact that the number of items has gone back to its original value of 2503 when I delete the new test page but NOT the test table indicates to me that IS is not indexing the WP Table Builder tables.

The settings for my default IS search form has NO exclusions, and is searching all post types, all posts, all pages, all locations, all events and all media. There is an additional section here called “WPTB”, but when I expand this it says “No WPTB Tables created”. Assuming that WPTB here is referring to WP Table Builder, then that’s incorrect. I have dozens.

I’m at a loss. Any other thoughts?

    Kind regards,
    Alan

    Hi,
Further information to my query about searching WP Table Builder tables (WPTB). If I turn OFF the “Expand Shortcodes Before Indexing Option”, ivory search indexes 2503 items and 1792 terms. If I then turn the “Expand Shortcodes option ON and re-index, ivory search again indexes 2503 items and 1792 terms. The index seems the same size whether the “Expand Shortcodes” option is turned on or off, indicating to me that ivory search just isn’t expanding the shortcodes.

    What am I doing wrong?

Hi, just another thought, I’m assuming that the WPTB Tables settings in Ivory Search actually refer to the same table plug-in I’m using. My tables plug-in is WP Table Builder by WP Table Builder, see https://wptablebuilder.com/.

    The version numbers are;
    WPTB v1.4.1=2
    Ivory Search v5.4.6
    Wordpress v5.9.3

    Cheers,
    Alan

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. I’ve tried that to no avail. In the Search section for my specific search form, there is a category for WPTB Tables. But this says “No WPTB tables created”. And yet I have dozens. Is searching WPTB tables a Pro feature only, perhaps?

    Alan
