In reply to: [Genesis Custom Blocks] Difference from WP reusable blocks functionalityHi Ryan,
Thanks for answering so quickly.
I will add that a big benefit of Genesis Custom Blocks is that one can adjust a given block’s template once and have the changes take effect immediately for all uses of the block. This is akin to WP’s reusable blocks functionality, but without the limitation of having the same content (which is a major limitation!). This makes the website much easier to adapt to changing requests, and is also reminiscent of Genesis’ approach to web development.
Regarding unique content design, personally I have been very impressed with Gutenberg approach. I find that Gutenberg simplifies sections like hero by a lot, and this is not even counting the custom blocks that are available through the multitude of plugins. It would be nice if the current plugin could make use of pre-built blocks…
IMO the issue with Gutenberg is that it is not yet mature, and complicated blocks tend to break with new releases. As the current plugin is also fairly new, do you find development based on Genesis Custom Blocks to be more or less reliable for complex blocks compared to building them with Gutenberg?

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Add media link to Media & Text BlockThanks for bringing up your plugin Jeffrey, unfortunately I am only looking for non-plugin solutions, or solutions involving Gutenberg plugin only. Does anyone know how to achieve this without an additional plugin?

In reply to: [SEO Redirection Plugin - 301 Redirect Manager] Redirecting long urlsHi Fakhri,
My version is the most recent. I’ve been updating WordPress and all plugins regularly.
I have solved the problem myself using a custom php function. Instead of treating URLs as a whole (which I could not do with your plugin, htaccess, or core WordPress functions), I used the variables that were communicated, and based on them did a redirect with wp_safe_redirect.
I did not send you any emails because I solved the problem myself.

In reply to: [SEO Redirection Plugin - 301 Redirect Manager] Redirecting long urlsI guess the problem is that the URLs contain regex special characters that need to be escaped. Is this possible to do with SEO redirection plugin?
Hi Jan,
The Advanced Booking Calendar icon is present on Visual Editor of pages, posts and custom post types.
It works completely as expected on pages and posts.
For custom post types the ‘Single Calendar’ option does not work. I can see it as part of the Advanced Booking Calendar submenu, but clicking on it does nothing.
This is resolved now. I did not know how to use :before in css to override default icons.
Hi Jan,
I see that you are using Font Awesome icons for the legend. The icon for .abc-single-legend-available is fa-square-o, in which I cannot adjust the inside color.
I can rename the icon in your css file, but this will get overwritten when you update your plugin.
Is it possible for you to update the icon to fa-square with a background color. This will let me change the background color in my own css without compatibility issues.
Alternatively, can you suggest how I can change the icon in a stylesheet outside of ABC stylesheet.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Advanced Booking Calendar] Pending/ provisional bookingsHi Jan,
I tested this and it does part of what I am looking for: It allows the dates to be automatically listed as ‘booked’ upon submission of a booking request. This makes sense when the customer pays right away, but is not ideal in the case where a booking can be accepted/rejected by hotel staff.
What I was hoping for is that there is another display on the booking form for ‘pending’. If the hotel staff accept the booking then it is ‘booked’. If they reject the booking then it is ‘available.’
‘Pending’ communicates to the site visitor that it is not yet a confirmed booking, but a possible one. When they see their required dates as ‘pending’ they are still able to contact the hotel owner about them.
‘Pending’ also allows the hotel owner to reserve dates for potential visitors while leaving the door open for a new query about those dates.
I thought that I could implement what I am looking for with the ‘partly booked’ option. However, it is not mean for this purpose and becomes a headache for hotel staff to manage.
Thank you!

Thanks Sayontan for the demo link. This is what I am looking for.
I have looked for a simpler slider. I have been surprised that many sliders do not provide multiple slideshows per page and a non-centralized slider configuration. Either case I will take another look for a simple slider and if I don’t find anything suitable then will use Photonic.
Thank you for your help.
Hi Sayontan,
Thanks for your quick reply. I was fairly sure that it’s possible to have multiple instances, but wanted to clarify.
By a slideshow I mean similar to a slider with fade/slide effects. I need the slider to make it clear that it is more than just a single image, so there needs to be some sort of a dot/number/bullet below the slider that shows how many images are included in the particular slideshow. It’s something similar to this from the Meta Slider plugin:
