What were the changes in that plugin update? However, finally Apple Pay does no longer create errors when used by customers. Thanks for the support.
We were about to lodge the same complaint! We updated this morning to version 5.13.1 and got the very same problem with the admin fonts. We had to revert back to backups in order to go back to proper / original fonts. As a premium client, we maintain both MailPoet versions … the problem occured when updating the standard version. We require problem solving from MailPoet.

Thank you for your testing and feedback. Yes, we are fully aware that Apple Pay only appears when using a Safari browser. Our customers had the Apple Pay Button appeared, but it did not work.
We enabled this function a few minutes ago again, in order for you to see it on our live system at https://petalane.ch

Thanks for guidance. We adjusted the Site on our staging site as mentioned by you. As we were also running WPML (and by deactivating it), the site provides some errors on shop goods (i.e. most of it are lagging now quantities) and you would have to search for example “nipple pads” as there is only a color type and enough quantities in the system.

Lastly, we are only selling physical items. Please let me know, if we should do something more.

I gladly provide the required feedback.
Guide on Apple Pay visibility: although we activate the function “Apple Pay and Google Pay”, it will only show the “Google Pay” functionality at the frontend for the customers.
As mentioned in that guide, we ensured one of the following combinations of settings are configured in WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts & Privacy:
Enable guest checkout is enabled, or… Both of the following are enabled:
– Allow customers to create an account > During checkout
– Send password setup linkWe run the WP rocket chaching plugin, but no server-side caching or CDN services. WP rocket is installed for many months at our end and never interfered with Apple Pay.
Logs under WooCommerce -> Status -> Logs: we could not find any Apple Pay-related errors after reactivating the payment method. As Apple Pay does not even show-up at the frontend system, we have to assume that is not active at all.

Thank you for reply. We did some thorough testing and realised that after we de-activated the function “Apple Pay und Google Pay” and re-activated it again, then only “Google Pay” is shown as an option. This confirms that customers must have had an issue with this payment option …. it simply did not work at all ! As we have to safeguard our customers from a bad payment experience, we will deactivate the option “Apple Pay and Google Pay” completely, until you found the cause for this problem.
We run also a clone of our shop site and we replicated the issue there as well.
When you tested at our live website, it was before this simple step “de-activate” and “re-activate”. Now we cannot reinstate “ApplePay” anymore. We also tested the matter on other browsers through our clone setup and had same results. There seems to be a real issue with this payment option at WooPayment. What next? We could give you access to our testing environment.

I thank you for your feedback in view on the matter. As we have every day one of these faulty transactions (but funny enough only ONE per day), I will revert to WCML support team for investigation. WCML released today a new update – perhaps there is also an unreported fix for that in their package. However, if the issue occurs again tomorrow, we will contact WCML support for assistance. I keep you posted.

We found out that when we set the faulty transaction in woocommerce back “on hold”, we are then able to adjust the faulty figures in the woocommerce backend. When using the button “re-calculate”, then the system shows and stores the correct figures. We also checked on the database. We also compared the last incident with the latest problem and saw something on the database. Last time, the database entry “_wcml_converted_subtotal”and “_wcml_converted_subtotal” appeared also with the faulty figures. This time, we could not find those database entries with wrong figures.
We did not add new plugins recently and the system was stable until the day of initially reporting the problem. The only other recent change we did, was changing the settings in WCML plugin (with geoloaction) from “Currencies based on Language” to “Currencies based on Location”. We also use WP Rocket as a cache plugin, but WP Rocket support is anyway tightly checking on our system (they have admin rights) in order to trace an issue with WCML and their settings for Geolocation which conflicts with Preloading functionality of WP Rocket. But preloading is currently deactivated and cannot interfere.

Many thansk for your feedback. Unfortunataley, it happened again (see screenshot https://petalane.ch/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/faulty_payment_woocommerce.png ). It happened when editing in woocommerce the phone number in the address section and then saving it. But it happened in only one customer order out of 17. All other changes (i.e. deleting phone number in shipping address and then saving the changes) went smoothly. There must be one circumstance which triggers the changes in amounts. We deactivated plugins as far as we could, but had to make sure that our live plattform still works for customers. It is impossible to recreate the fault because deactivating plugins does not change the figures – they are already set with the wrong figures in the database. We would appreciate if you could look into our status report. Please let me know to which e-mail address I could sent it.

The system charged the customer with CHF 51.00 and also the commission was correctly reflected in the transaction details. The issue was related to the woocommerce side of the transaction. Thanks for reaching out to me despite I set the issue as “resolved”. I fully agree that the issue is not resolved as I did only a quick fix on the database. The issue is/was rather serious. As you may see on the screenshot, the product amounts as well as tax amounts were totally incorrect. The product amount was out by a factor of 1 Mio. and the shipping cost by a factor of x100. It should have been CHF 39.69 and CHF 7.49 – also all VAT figures were completely wrong. Before going to the database, we disabled all plugins which could possibly have an impact to see, if the issue resolves. We could not find an plugin impact. It is either a bug in woocommerce or a server incident (although we use a hosted server and the log files did not show ANY server issues at that time).

WooCommerce should keep a close eye on such misshappenings. We consulted with db / woocommerce specialists and they could not find any problem in our setup. They could imagine that after the latest woocommerce update a bug found its way into woocommerce system.

many thanks for youf fast reply. We are already on latest WooPayment 8.6.1 and Debug mode is activated. We tested already yesterday on 2024 theme, but same result. No entry in debug files. We feel that GitHub issue #3194 was not the same issue. In our case, the coupon functionality seems to be the issue. The coupon generated is correctly recognised by woocommerce all the way through to checkout. It is the final payment step with WooPayment which seems to kill the process. We already contacted the plugin supplier YIHT (Woocommerce Gift Cards) and they firmly state that they rely 100% on the woocommerce coupon system and that’s why the coupons are correctly recognised. Also the theme supplier (GOYA theme) was confronted with the issue and the also claim that QUOTE ” The theme is basically a skin and it doesn’t change the processes in checkout and it doesn’t perform any validations for coupons or payment options. ” UNQUOTE. Both also asked for using 2024 or similar themes to test … same problem. We are somewhat lost – logs are empty, but frontend system tells us that something is wrong. Puuh – what next?

We reached out to the Theme provider (Envato) to get their testing and feedback. Their answer was as follows:
“The theme is basically a skin and it doesn’t change the processes in checkout and it doesn’t perform any validations for coupons or payment options. That’s from the WooCommerce code or 3rd party plugins. Nothing in the error logs indicate a problem with the theme.”
We disabled all plugins with the exception of woocommerce, woopayment and woocommerce multilingual as otherwise the site would not work for testing real redemption of a gift card coupon. We are still experiencing a fatal error with the following log entry:

On top, we are also unable to process a checkout where the cart balance is “0” after applying a gift card coupon. For some reason, the GIFT4U coupons are creating an fatal error in the payment process … and yet the system recognises GIFT4U coupons all the way in the checkout process … until “pay now” ist clicked -> fatal error.
