We did not change the production type because our administrator wants us to test in staging area, however we were able to manually insert the tag. Thanks for your help!
Hi @jamesosborne ! Thanks for your response! We will try this!
Hi @adamdunnage! After you checked, I re-activated all of the plugins, and was looking at the Source Code again and noticed that there may be a CloudFlare in the All-in-one-SEO plugin. I think this may be what you were referring to earlier.
<!-- All in One SEO --><link rel='dns-prefetch' href='//cdnjs.cloudflare.com' /><link rel='dns-prefetch' href='//www.googletagmanager.com' /><link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Loki's Loop » Feed" href="https://staging2.lokisloop.org/feed/" /><link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Loki's Loop » Comments Feed" href="https://staging2.lokisloop.org/comments/feed/" />But, I also just checked the data stream in Analytics, and it says that it says: “Data collection is active in the past 48 hours.”
@adamdunnage Thanks for your help! I appreciate it!
Hi @adamdunnage! I just set up Analytics on the test site: https://escapeshow.s3-tastewp.com/. It looks like it is detecting the tag properly
@adamdunnage I am so sorry! I just realized that I missed deactivating one of the plugins. I just deactivated it.

@adamdunnage I apologize for the delay! I have deactivated all the plugins besides Site Kit: https://staging2.lokisloop.org/
Hi @adamdunnage! I just checked with the main site administrator. We are using Site Ground, not Cloudflare to host our website. They do not want to create a new staging area due to the costs, however I can turn off all the plugins in the current staging site besides the Site Kit one if that would be helpful?
@adamdunnage I do not believe that we are using Cloudflare, but let me double check?! I will also follow-up with the site administrator to see if they can help us create a new staging site. I apologize for the delay!
@adamdunnage I just deactivated Speed Optimizer! Thanks for your help!
Hi @adamdunnage! I have switched the site to the default WordPress theme.
Hi @adamdunnage! We took a look at the source code on the staging website. It looks like the code to insert the GA tag may be incorrect. We have been using the site kit to insert GA. Please find the link to a photo here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10xwODbWycTLK1aEAFrTJ3bU4YnknzbVH/view?usp=sharing. We were comparing this with the manual instructions for inserting the code on the Google Analytics website: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZXkvfkpinlCrZQ4dllDGAnawu-dI8tM3/view?usp=drive_link. What do you think??
@adamdunnage: I went through and tested all the plugins with the Tag Assistant and got the same error: “unable to verify tag.”
I also started to test the tag in a test environment yesterday: https://dreamrat.s4-tastewp.com/wp-admin/plugins.php. I am including some screenshots from there here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1e6sUjgmhUL_c4-EyPttjvB_xeJ_jdVz5?usp=sharing. It is saying that there is not any data, but I believe is incorrect since we saw data before switching the account from the previous admin. My teammate and I tried to connect it to her GA4 before realizing that we needed to switch the admin, but I am including a screenshot of what we can see to show that we are seeing data compared to what the dashboard says: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16Rv-QtDEvDQVccnoGgPvXxHaU4jO9dyw/view?usp=drive_link.
@adamdunnage: Oh wait! I think I found it. I believe that it was already marked as disabled. I tried to temporarily disable the Elementor Safe Mode MU plugin as well as the Speed Optimizer plugin, but I do not believe the tags are firing?
Hi @adamdunnage! I deactivated the Speed Optimizer plugin, however I am trouble funding the Elementor Safe Mode MU plugin. Sorry, I am a bit newer to WordPress. I attached a screenshot here of what I am seeing under plugins: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dZhu0m2aaix4DPMVmiUpO5s77OZyao8D/view?usp=drive_link.
