In reply to: Is the Admired theme updated on an ongoing basis ?Hi Alchymyth I have been looking at this http://docs.woothemes.com/document/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/ and wondered how I could tell if the admired theme is likely to work with woo commerce. I don’t know what to look for in its code (if its revealed) to see if there is compatibility long term with admired – the shows the answer. I don’t understand code though or what there saying. I wondered if its only took 2 minutes or so if you could do a quick check for me ?
The admired theme support might not be that much available given so many ask questions so I kind of came back here. Hope you don’t mind.
Thanks so much if your able.

In reply to: Will all theme types handle mobile re-size plugins ?Do I type in mobile friendly themes in search or look through all of them and hope it says it on there descriptions?
Is mobile friendly meaning it is an compromised one size fits all though ?
Thanks for you help that’s great advice to go without the plugin if possible.

In reply to: Plugin or theme for changing templates ?High thanks yes. I have seen single paged themes with no menus. They could of been a post or a page. How is the page different ? I am hoping to use a post then by the sounds of it so it can be categorised based on what you are saying.
I’ve never used a CMS so I am really just wanting the pages as easy to find for myself in the CMS.
About the indexing again I’m not sure how that works due to not having had a website or having yet used a CMS. I thought due to a post automatically showing in a blog that this was in some way stored in the CMS and then also indexed. The index I thought was called a xml site map. From what I recall though the sitemap someone uses on a website is different again. Sorry for my ignorance I think I have not connected the dots yet. So what to wordpress do ?
Thanks.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Plugin or theme for changing templates ?Oh sorry no problem. I sent part 2 of a post from the one you queried me on just above my last post. I’m not sure you saw it. Many thanks!

In reply to: Plugin or theme for changing templates ?High thanks yes. I have seen single paged themes – plain if you like. That could of been a post or a page I presume without anything else other than text as content. I am hoping that its a post then so it can be categorised based on what you are saying.

If I sat down and thought about I might be able to figure it. So what to wordpress do in relation to all this ?

In reply to: Plugin or theme for changing templates ?Hi I have a third party program which helps with design. As a result I have elected to go with this with the help of wordpress. However because as you may have noticed I am new to wordpress I just wanted to ask a few more questions. Is there a theme that enables you to remove the menus from your pages so it leaves you with just a single paged article ?
As I build a larger number of pages is it possible to put them in categories and make them generally more easy to find and manage. Also is there an auto-indexing availability ?
I am concerned if its just a one column article theme of text it will then NOT allow me to manage categorise or index anything if the MENU is not shown up on all my pages? Thus without a VISIBLE menu I am disabling the CMS sort of as well. I assume I am wrong ?
Thanks.

In reply to: Plugin or theme for changing templates ?I was struggling to find them on the themes page. Do you recommend contacting wordpress directly ? Actually I just realised the templates would be different in .org. I’ve been using .com. If anyone passes by perhaps you could give me some hints ? The main concern is i’d need to know what to choose before buying hosting with anyone to delve and find one in wordpress themes on .org. I will click above after writing this to see if themes come up before I pay for hosting with anyone. It would be nice to know before hand though otherwise it seems I have to buy something from say hostgator and then start to look at it all.
Thanks!

In reply to: Can any HTML webpage be moved to WordPress ?Is it a simple matter of going to where you suggested above and deleting the code for a button from a CMS box and instead putting the HTML for the button into it instead. I am not HTML trained but can access HTML for a button and slot it into the correct WP CMS box.
In an ideal world I am sure this would work but I have a feeling the answer will be no. If it is ‘no’ is it still simple and can you give an example of something like a button and how you’d do it. Like the name of the CMS area which is I think is under Navigation. The Wp_nav_menu means less to me as I have never uses a CMS either. Is this meaning a short cut ?
If you were able to show me an example for the normal button clicking Word Press user. Perhaps the above meant go to nav then menu and then somewhere else with your underscoring ?
Or perhaps a title in the Word Press help section would be easier than taking peoples time up on the forum.
Incidentally thanks for your answers so far its very helpful and gives me some hope of sorting things for sure! Perhaps the help menu then ?

In reply to: Can any HTML webpage be moved to WordPress ?Can the navigation buttons currently in the default free templates be changed into html buttons of my choosing. Do the CMS defaults allow change ? Is there an easy plugin that would allow changes more easily or that introduces external website basics into the CMS ?
Thanks.
