SO I figured out the problem not long after I asked the question. There seems to be a glitch with this plugin if the page that you’re accessing (such as the homepage on my website) is not really a wordpress page or post, but built into the theme. In the settings for this plugin there is a section that redirects all pages on the site without access to whatever custom page you set. I had this setting set to the login page, so my homepage was being redirected there. It’s strange to me that this only started occurring after a recent update, so I think this still may be a glitch that can be fixed in the plugin. For now, this setting change will suffice for my purposes.
