I’ve also done as you suggested, Jeremy, and to no effect. 🙁 Still shows “Leave a Reply.”
Just chiming in that I have the same problem, and it’s only begun recently — possibly with the Jetpack update but I can’t be sure. Running Jetpack 2.2.5 on WP 3.5.1 on multi-sites.
It’s the same problem on every site in the network: can see and edit the custom text in the Discussion Settings, but it doesn’t show up on the actual site — default “Leave a reply” only.
I’ve also checked to see if it’s a theme issue, but same applies even in WP default themes.
kotsis – thank you so much for posting this! I was wondering why the plugin wasn’t working. We are also on multisite and I am not an experienced developer so I rarely edit php unless I know exactly what to look for. Really appreciate it!
Ah, nevermind! I just solved my own problem and am feeling stoopid. I had taken the php file itself out, and put into the wp-content/plugins directory, rather than the unfiltered-mu contents folder. Sorry!
