I think I solved the problem and I’m posting the answer in case someone has this issue as well:
Ok, so since the buttons worked the way they should I figured the problem has to be something “superficial” and I swapped the CSS for the bottom navigation buttons (Yes, it was as simple as that -_- ).
It really solved the problem! I’m not sure if it works on devices like older phones which seem to disable javascript, cut off my footer widgets and parts of my CSS (no background or icons, like the ones I use in the navigation I had the problems with, are displayed).
