I’m new to WP too and unfortunately did not understand alchymyth’s answer. I’d like a darker font for my site too.

In the code quote it looks to me like #777 is the font colour, but I thought these had to be six characters long so I don’t want to change it without being sure.

Also, is this a case where one would make a “child” theme?
