Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Website crashes when update pHP from 7.4 to 8.3Thanks for this advice. Was on an old version of PHP and saw the notice in my dashboard to upgrade to 8.*
Did that and then couldn’t access my site, getting a “critical error” message when trying to log in or just view the site. Contacted BlueHost tech support and he downgraded to 7.4 and the site’s back up. When I have time, I’ll look into the solutions listed above. Just wanted to comment here for any others that are having the same issue I had.Thank you for the information. I suspected it was not the plugin, but the theme, just looking for confirmation.
When I logged in today, I saw that there was an option to update the theme, I don’t know how I missed that. I updated and the search is working correctly now.
I appreciate your time!!
I’m having the same problem!

I moved my site from one host to another, and the standard search widget stopped working (returning a page not found 404 error)
I installed the Ajax Search Lite plugin to see if that would make any difference, and I’m having the same issue as @bhagh
I’ve deactivated other plugins to test, no change.
I reset permalinks & even installed the basic .htaccess file
I’ve searched the web and WP forums for other solutions and I’m not finding anything.
I’m guessing the problem is with WP code and not the Ajax Search Lite, but I’m not sure what else to try.
