  • Hi Inodes

Good news but how did you do it? I had thought of doing this but could not find anywhere on the ww.wp.xz.cn site where I could download an earlier version, only 4.1 was available for download.

Do you have a download url?

    Hi ozzesh

I still have not resolved this problem. I did try uploading a fresh copy of wp-includes/functions.php but this did not make any difference.

I have also asked my Host about this but the only advice they could offer was to upload a new version of the functions.php

I am now lost for what to do next, anybody got any suggestions?

Ozzesh can I ask you one questions. In the week prior to the fault appearing did you install any new software? If you did could you tell me the name of the software. It might just help me with my investigations.

I used the BackUpWordpress plugin to automatically create backups with the file url emailed to me, unfortunately when I try to access this backup file I get the same error message that I referred to in my first post.

I have checked my cpanel for an alternative backup to use. I have several Add On Domains listed with this host (ijustgottahavethat.com is an add-on domain) and as far as I can see I cannot simply back up just one domain, I have to backup them all. I will check with my host to see if there is a way round this because I am reluctant to reinstall all domains just in case something does go wrong.

If I could ask you 1 further question what permissions should I set when I upload a fresh copy of wp-includes/functions.php. The settings I used were 0644, is this correct?

Atifishaq, have you installed any new software recently?

I noticed this is marked as RESOLVED but cannot see any resolutions.

I am very curious because I too have experienced an identical problem and have been unable o resolve it. Can anyone help please.

My error message when I try to log in

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”http:/’ (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE) in /home/marketee/public_html/www.ijustgottahavethat.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4635
