In reply to: [Unconfirmed] Not working

I’m running WP 3.6.1 MU. Just installed today and seems to be working fine.

    Thanks Mika,

I have done another WPMU install on the same server and so far none of the same issues. But, the new install is not nearly as complex as the first.

I don’t disagree that it might be a corrupt file somewhere, but now how do I go about finding it? I’ve detailed above all that I’ve done to date with no results. You have any other suggestions I can try?

Hey Mike – I’ve got a guy at WPMUDEV helping on this problem as well. Here is the link: http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/slow-admin-in-mu?replies=4#post-248373

We are working on server memory limits (128M) and site usage of 20-30 MB every time I change a page with continuing times of about 25 sec. I got 23.14s from a pingdom test of the page. I just posted so don’t have his response yet.

We are still trying to figure out the problem without any luck. This is what we have done so far.
    1. Deactivated all plugins
    2. Changed all themes to Twenty Eleven so we can eliminate a theme issue
    3. Removed any unused themes and plugins
    4. Took down the entire site and did a clean re-install of WP which included new databases etc and made sure to follow WP instructions to activate MU.
    5. Reloaded our full back-up from blogvault.net our back-up service.
    6. Did trial reload on blogvault servers with little if any improvement.
    7. We are on a typical shared hosting plan with StartLogic and all server settings appear to be identical to others.
    8. Again deactivated all plugins and themes etc with no luck.
    9. Checked compatibility of all plugins and themes with 3.4.1

Our next step is to do a full install on a VPS server from a different hosting company to see if it is fact something with our host servers.

Our specialty themes and plugins included Headway Theme, Photocrati Theme, Cart66, and Gravity Forms plugins. Everything else is standard WP and not that many of them.

Anyone else have any ideas? Everyone we have spoken too about this problem is stumped. We sure would like to hear some other options. The only thing we have not done at this point is a complete re-create of the sites (6) and this is NOT something we want to do, but we must find a solution. 25 sec per page is nuts!!

Other people running MU – how many different sites are you running off a single MU install?

I have done the “recommended” items such as turn off all the plugins, optimize the database, even adjusted image sizes and eliminated unused ones. My multi site admin is still SLOW. It’s taking about 25 sec to load each page. The front end works fine, it’s just the admin side where we have the issue.

I have another recommendation that its possibly our hosting server but they don’t want to take any credit for it. So we are considering moving to another service but I hate to do that until we can clearly define that the server is the issue. Suggestions?

Another option that has been suggested is to take everything off and do a clean re-install and re-create. Can be done but still looking for the culprit and I hate to do all that work and find out we still have the issue.

I agree, this would be a great feature!
