I find this relationship to be really confusing. Can you elaborate or point me towards documentation that explains it in more detail?
I am using Tutor Pro, which I thought was supposed to make student/instructor account management more simple, but it’s still a major mystery to me.
It seems like you can view and manage accounts of all users via WP Users – i.e.; Display name, role, etc.) – but some of those changes aren’t reflected by the Tutor LMS user list (i.e.; instructors, students)?
For example, if I go to Users > Add new user > and assign that user the “Instructor” role, that user has some of the instructor permissions, but not all. Instead, you actually need to create that instructor via the Instructors page, directly within Tutor LMS.
That means any existing account cannot be changed to instructor by the admin?
I figured this out when, via the WP Users page, I created a new account and assigned instructor – I then assigned this new instructor to a course via the Instructor dropdown within the course editor.. That instructor could be seen as a co-author or primary author/instructor (I tried both) with a dedicated Instructor page with their bio and their courses shown. They could access that account, view the instructor dashboard, see the course under “My courses” – but when they went to edit, they would get a blank page..no message, just blank.
I finally checked the Instructor page within the Tutor plugin and saw that this instructor was missing. I deleted the account via Users, and recreated it via that Instructors page, and they could suddenly edit the course.
I can’t imagine that’s intended behavior..
does the visibility of the “Become an instructor” button in the dashboard have hidden repercussions maybe?
It would help to understand, is there ANY difference between a user creating an account via the Tutor-login page vs the WP login page.
These options exist in Tutor settings, but there is little to no explanation aside from the obvious.
wait i’m sorry………what!!!?? this is a huge deal.
why? Paypal offers this via their advanced checkout – can it not be integrated? is this something that is being worked on?
I purchased tutor pro specifically because it enables subscriptions, memberships, and course bundling; Now I’m learning there is a caveat – you must be using Tutor’s ‘Native’ payment processing. But Tutor’s Native payment processing doesn’t support PayPal advanced checkout.
So I can either: use subscriptions, memberships, and course bundling, but only accept payments from people with PayPal accounts. OR I can switch back to Woocommerce and accept credit & debit & paypal accounts, but I can’t use the Tutor Pro features that are meant to be compatible with Woocommerce.
no, that can’t be right, right?
I’m missing something – I must be. Please tell me what I’ve missed before my head implodes from the pressure buildup as I descend further down into the dark murky waters, in an attempt to get to the bottom of these paywall layers between me being SOL and actual compatibility.

In reply to: [TutorStarter] Gutenberg option not available anymore ?Same……………..literally prepped days to move my site from a classic theme, to tutor starter bc it supports gutenberg.
- tutor starter v3.0.2
- WP v6.8
Got it – though I’m still a bit confused.
Setting reCAPTCHA aside for a moment – If I understand correctly, a static nonce value removes a major barrier that would normally stop these types of automated registrations.
This isn’t the intended behavior is it? If not, is the Tutor team aware of this and working on a fix? Or could it be something on my end that is resulting in a static value? Though the value appears to be hardcoded in the javascript…
Any knowledge regarding the security issue with the static nonce value ?
I looked through my logs and confirmed that this is in direct correlation with the spike in bot accounts; in other words, it was different each time, and suddenly two weekly ago, it’s been static and 2000 bots created account on my site………..
The enrollment page? Could you elaborate? Where would I find this? Is it a Pro feature, bc I don’t see this.
I’ve seen the same issues on demo sites by themeum. Are those outdated? Is it something that can be fixed with an update by the theme developer?

In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Payments] I need of guidanceI’ll upload the status report, but here’s a glimpse. I noticed the webhook simulate button and clicked it and got an error. I resubscribed and simulated again and it worked. Unfortunately this didn’t solve the problem, as I don’t think it was always an issue. I “cleared data” and deactivated and deleted the plugin and reinstalled, but the account info was still there so it wasn’t a true fresh start.

In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Payments] I need of guidanceI’m looking forward to that update. It may be just in time for our launch – now if I can just get the Advanced Processing Enabled I’d be set *knock*
I’ve actually (for the first time) gotten a sandbox account to properly work. After I “activated” the sandbox with Advance Processing selected, when Woocommerce refreshed, advanced card processing was Enabled. But in this screen recording it’s not – hopefully you can watch that.
The URL is empower-village.com/checkout
Thanks again for the feedback. If the video & URL don’t help with clarify, I’ll follow ur instructions for the system report – it just seems very involved as I’m not that the most technical user.
Thanks again for the feedback
Gotcha. No problem, thanks for the help.

In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Payments] I need of guidanceI’ve continued testing and trying to get this to work. I have a feeling a the country is bugging out the connection. When I disabled my sandbox account and created a new US account, the connection synced everything perfectly fine.
I really think the country is breaking it.
When logging in with a Japan account, but selecting United States, the login window reloads the page with Japan selected from the dropdown (where it previously didn’t exist as an option). Could it be possible that the only way to proceed with Japan selected is via the Standard Payment Processing option, so it forces me down that login flow..?

In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Payments] I need of guidanceHi Krystian,
I really appreciate the thoroughness of your response. I ended up switching to an alternative plugin that worked.
I believe you are correct that the issue stems from this block system. I read the screenshotted snippet from the documentation when I was troubleshooting; I must have read this before I understood the lingo (smart buttons, blocks, etc). But to be fair it does state exactly what I’m describing and clearly says it’s not supported.
This is so very odd…I tried exactly what you suggested when I was troubleshooting, and the button didn’t show. But now I can see the debit card button…still nothing happens when clicked but it’s progress…….maybe?
I did change the Woocommerce setting from “High-performance order storage (recommended)” to the legacy and enabled compatibility mode as per recommendation from another user. Maybe this has something to do with it?
What do you mean when you say you question whether Adnvaced Checkout was enabled? To be clear I was never able to enable Advanced checkout bc when i activate my paypal account via the plugin with advanced checked, the page reloads and the options are disabled. When I click enable, i am redirected to my paypal dashboard, but nothing is ackomplished or changed.
I thought this was bc I selected United States when my account is Japan based, but you said this doesn’t matter, so it’s even more odd.
Not sure wehre to go from here..I would still prefer using the Advanced checkout if possible.
I’ve actually found the shortcode verision of the checkout page solved some bugs I was experiencing when using the block version (guests were not receiving their course after purchase). So i wouldn’t mind switching from it, if it means the paypal plugin would work, but that’s still not clear as the credit card button is still not interactive.

Good to know, thanks. For the redirect after purchase, Tutor has a setting for this in the form of a toggle – “Redirect student to course dashboard after purchase.” Is the purpose of toggling the switch on, to bypass the Order Details page?
I understand this can be overwritten, but I haven’t made any customizations that I would expect to break this.
Lastly, have there been fixes for the guest checkout not transfering the purchased courses to the newly auto-created guest account? I read another thread where a Tutor support person recommended enabling “compatibility mode (synchronizes orders to the posts table).” and switching legacy – WordPress posts storage.
Is this still the case?
Thanks again
Yeah I was premature with my reaching out. I JUST “fixed” it; I had the “Use Place Order Button” checked. I unchecked it.
Unreal…
Ya’ll are LIFE SAVERS. After literally spending HOURS troubleshooting a different plugin(s); this took me an hour.
If I knew what I was doing, it would have taken 2 minutes.

One question tho if I may, if you select a country, click the credit card button, and it loads in, it loads a form specific to that country..which is amazing. If you change that country though, do you always have to X out and reload the form (by clicking the button again) or is it supposed to update? I’ve been having cache issue and I’m curious if this is another thing being effected.
