In reply to: http error during attempted upload of 24M video@catacaustic Thank you. I tried your approach with a text file, but didn’t have much luck. I’ll try it again later tonight with a pdf as you’ve used. In the meantime, I’ve created a sub folder for the videos and renamed the video to something a bit obscure, then uploaded it via ftp. In the course I’m building, I’m able to post it via URL and it comes up fine. When the video plays, it doesn’t show a path to the video because it’s inside a separate path to the actual lesson page.
It’s not the way I thought the system should have worked within the Media files option, but it works. This is the first course of many I hope to create. After I get the others up, I may switch to Amazon S3 (or something like it) for remote storage and serving of the media.

Thank You. I’ve spent a lot of time (a little tweak at a time) getting the site looking good, but there’s a lot of this stuff I hadn’t gotten down yet. Thanks again.

In reply to: Automatic update of plugins failsIn my case I tried it a number of times and the system just hung up leaving my blog in “Maintenance Mode” so that it’s stuck. I end up having to shut down the browser and wait a few minutes to get back in.
So far, I’ve not been able to upgrade any of the plugins.
Thank you. Being relatively new to WP I wasn’t sure where to look or as you pointed out, I wasn’t even sure of the correct nomenclature.
Your link may have helped me get an answer. Even so, it’s my guess from the tone of your answer, there’s a good chance that you don’t get along with people.
