I have deleted everything… and am still having the same issue. I think I’m just going to delete the entire wordpress installation and re install from scratch. I can’t update wordpress to the new version either. So obviously something’s wrong somewhere.
I’ve switched back to the 2015 theme, and everything worked as it should have. Sorry for posting here.
