Many themes (mistylook, cutline, and others) have a change header image control under the design tab – and will allow you to upload an image directly from your pc and crop it to fit. As far as the switching headers by page goes, it apparently takes inserting some “if then else” code into the header, which I am about to try.
The second part – the “I want home_header used by default” part – just means that all regular posts and pages will use the same header, the way wordpress works normally.

In reply to: adding logo to home pageA related question that is probably addressed somewhere in this forum even though I can’t find it- How do i set up different header images for each page like some cms systems do? For example: I have different 700×200 jpgs About_header, Privacy_header,Costs_header, Opt-in_header,Home_header, Links_header,etc.. I want home_header used by default. I am currently using MistyLook or ProSense themes but don’t mind changing themes.
