In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8Haha, yep, its been interesting and I’ve always been afraid of looking at the sites at the end of development in IE ‘Destroyer’. Appropriately named i’m sure you would agree. It always adds a day to a week of extra coding to get it right in it. Damn bill gates.
Have a good one mate!

In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8In my experiences you can’t really trust the IETester for things like this as I’m assuming you agree with since your requesting me to test it for you, but unfortunately, i’m on a mac also. I have access to another user with IE8, but the way I found out about this problem was from the client whom has a PC at home. Not something I can ask him to do though.
Your site in IE8 is displaying 2 javascript errors:
Prototype.js – Object doesn’t suppoert this method or property on line 4621
Lightbox.js – style is null or not an object line 33 char 6.With that said, it seems that your slider is working as it should!

In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8Good pickup Thomas. And my apologies to Thethefly, turns out your plugin is bonza after all! With that said, it may be an idea to follow Thomas’ lead and change your jQuery version on your site that why when people have the issue and view your site and see it working, they will know there is something wrong with their install. I’d also add this to your FAQ section as I would assume it would be a common question.
Thomas, in regards to your need to change the jQuery version, the simpliest way would be to modify the installed version directly which can be found in wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js
That should put you on the straight and narrow!
Take care guys

In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8Yeah, talk about dodge the issue thethefly. As Thomas mentioned, your plugin is very good but useless if it doesn’t work on all browsers. You just need to check your own website in IE. Dogs breakfast.
I’m quite happy with the current plugin I have and it works. Maybe next time champ. And there will be a next time. I’m a web developer and do about 3 wordpress sites a month (not the only thing I do obviously π )

In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8Nice mate, Looks good to me! I’d suggest doing the majority with css if you can help it, but if you need tags in there i’m sure it will support.
Got the result in the end.

In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8I have all options disabled to achieve the look of my slideshow. I uploaded 2 at first to see if it worked as I needed it to… maybe that was your problem. I had no issue in getting this one working. Worked first go. and I’m using the php way to enter it onto the page in my homepage template:
<?php if (function_exists('nivoslider4wp_show')) { nivoslider4wp_show(); } ?>Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8Thomas,

In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8Sure thing. If you search in the admin plugins search its the one called Nivo Slider for WordPress, or
http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/nivo-slider-for-wordpress/Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8I had to ditch this plugin and go with another. Nivo Slider for wordpress gives you exactly the same effect, different options than this plugin, but it works 110% in IE is it doesn’t use png’s for the opaque background. its a plain coloured background giving you the option to chose the colour and the opacity of it.
Possibly an idea to change this on this plugin Thethefly…

In reply to: [TheThe Image Slider] [Plugin: TheThe Image Slider] Caption Issue in IE8I’m thinking its more of a PNG issue with IE than a javascript problem. Either way I need this fixed up asap.
I have been playing around with so many settings and can’t seem to get it to come good. Even the live demo on the main site is doing it.
