  • Update; problem solved.

    I had the same issue.
    I tried:

    1) Deleting other SEO plug-ins that got installed automatically with WP.
    2) Also, I tried deleting Yoast and re-installing it. Still, I couldn’t get past the second step of the configuration workout. Configuration continued right there where it started.
    3) I also created a new user as “author” – still, when I changed the Site representation as “person,” no user was found.

    When this happened, and I left Yoast activated, I couldn’t edit anything or add a new page; I got the error message;

    There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

    But, I could edit the pages if I deactivate Yoast.

    How I eventually solved this (as it seems right at the moment);
    I installed the plug-in Transients Manager.
    Using this plug-in, I deleted everything related to Yoast PLUS other SEO tool-related files installed automatically with WordPress.

    After doing this, I re-installed Yoast and was able to start the configuration from step 1, and now it found my user name, and I got to finish with the configuration workout.

    I hope this helps!
