Is the H1’s content coming from the XML too?
If so you could use a quick regEx on that and echo the value out in the title tags after another wp tag yu have in there

In reply to: Using GIT with local host root directory for theme developmentWhen I use source control for WordPress theme development (using bitbucket) I tend to have the repo only contain the parent theme folder, and clone that repo to a local install of WordPress.
That way you don’t need to have any unneeded files in your repo or use .ignore files

It might be worth having a look at optimizing the load speed, even if just for the home page.
1.4mb of images on the homepage, maybe try compression or css sprites?

a fair bit of inline javascript though as well as the issues raised by andrew nevins.are you aware that your social media links only go the the homepage of the site?
IE twitter.com [no user name]
