    Hi, sorry for the delay, I had trouble with ww.wp.xz.cn running really slow when I tried to login, and then got busy with other tasks.

    Do you know the method that is used to specify that the site is staging vs. production?

    There is no flag anywhere. I just created a staging version of the live website on a subdomain with the url test.mydomain.com.

    Do I need to add a Constant into the wp-config file for this plugin to work? I didn’t see this in the Installation Instructions for the plugin, so maybe I missed this step.

    Yes that’s the plugin. But when I deactivate it, wasn’t able to get email sent, from what I can see (on an AWS Lightsail instance using Ubuntu 22.04 with latest Apache and PHP 8.2.10).

    Ok, follow-up.

    The zip was accurate, it was around 125MB to 130MB, which is what I got from Updraft Plus as well. The initial estimate had put it at 670MB though.

    Second, the database DID end up installing. Which is weird, because it happened like 5-10 minutes after I hit the “Restore” button.

    The issue was — when I hit “Restore” button, there was no indicator that anything had happened. And after the plugins and theme files were uploaded, it SEEMED that the database was not going to get installed.

    So after I deleted all the files to try with a different plugin, something like 5-10 minutes later the database upload spontaneously appeared.

    In any case, I ended up using the free version of Updraft Plus Backup & Restore and that went smoothly on the first try. They also automatically detected that I was uploading to a different domain, and did a search & replace (I wasn’t even aware that this feature was available in the non-pro version).

    I just found your UI/UX to be too confusing and bloated, and I had no confidence that any of the clicks would generate the intended outcome.

    I updated your rating to be more fair, that maybe your plugin could potentially work. Just I don’t have the time to test and I’ve already gone with another solution.

    Hi, sorry, didn’t have time to create a Github support ticket. But the ticket Jory references seems the be a duplicate of the issue we are experiencing. I added a comment to link from that Github issue to this thread to add my details about the bug.

    Hi, there are no console errors being thrown 🤷‍♂️

    What’s funny:

    (1) if you upload two files, where the first exceeds the size limit on the field (ie. max. is 2mb, and you upload a 4mb file), it will show “Upload failed! Your file exceeds the allowed size”, and it will start upload of the next image without issues.

    But if the first file upload worked fine, it will just vanish the next file that was waiting in queue.

    (2) Interesting observation: if you upload two files at once, and you wait… even though the second is “vanished” in the upload queue of the field, it is still uploaded into the Media Libray. BUT, it never gets added to the field meta values, so it won’t appear in the files list for the field.

    I can investigate the bug. Likely something wrong in the JavaScript for plupload. Any suggestions in which files I can start debugging the code?

    I tried, doesn’t work. See:

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/77336959/disable-wordpress-php-deprecated-messages-from-debug-log

    [Edit] Per WordPress debug documentation:

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

    To enable WP_DEBUG_LOG, must enable WP_DEBUG.

    But WP_DEBUG forces logging of WordPress PHP Deprecated messages, regardless of server settings.

    Please fix, these messages create several GB of logs within 24 hours. I tried to disable WordPress deprecated messages in multiple ways and none of them work to disable these messages.

    Ah, found it was conflict with CouponAffiliates for WooCommerce plugin.

    When you go to Coupon Affiliates > Registration > Form CAPTCHA – Spam Protection, and you turn on “Cloudflare Turnstile“, it seems to create a duplicate instance of the Turnstile script, and then it causes all the login/register/reset forms to fail.

    I’ve resolved it for now by using reCaptcha instead for Coupon Affiliates register form.

    As for Reset Password, continues to fail if WP Reset Password is turned on. Need to disable on WP Reset Password, and only leave it enabled on WooCommerce Reset Password, and then it seems to work normally again.

    Update: I see now that the traditional “Reset Password” form actually just redirects to My Account > Reset Password (created by Woocommerce).

    So I tried by disabling “WordPress Reset Password”, and enabled “Woocommerce Reset Password”, and with this configuration it works.

    Thread Starter authentico

    (@authentico)

    Update: even when I disable the captcha on Woocommerce Reset Password form, it still complains “Please verify that you are human”.

    Note: this happens when “WordPress Reset Password” is enabled, and “Woocommerce Reset Password” is disabled. In this instance, the captcha no longer appears on the form. But when you submit the form, it is still being treated as-if the captcha was active on this form.

    Found a solution. Code proposed by ChatGPT works:

    function modify_pods_custom_post_type_args($args, $post_type) {
        // Check if the post type is the one created by Pods plugin that you want to modify
        if ($post_type === 'my_custom_post_type') {
            // Modify the 'create_posts' capability to false
            $args['capabilities']['create_posts'] = false;
        }
        return $args;
    }

    add_filter('register_post_type_args', 'modify_pods_custom_post_type_args', 10, 2);

    Thread Starter authentico

    (@authentico)

    Note: if I try to use that code, it overwrites the custom post type that was generated by Pods.

    Is there a way I can grab the $args value that Pods generated for my custom_post_type, so I can change that single capability?

    Thread Starter authentico

    (@authentico)

    Thanks, that validation makes me feel less like I’m crazy in thinking they didn’t do their job at Stablehost to investigate the issue with the server.
