After consulting with my web host again, it turns out my SQL and PHP versions are too old to support WP after all.
I was directed to this solution for my database issues but I suspect I don’t posess the expertise to know what to do with that code. I didn’t realize installing wordpress would be this complicated when I decided to install it. Are there simple instructions for what to do with this code or am I in over my head?
