One issue (my own code) is the WP_Query s= parameter. I’m using $s, but I’m not sure how to get the query string – how to set $s. In this code, it’s coming up empty.

Yep… is there a way to do it?
– bear in mind I’m building a multi-blog site, so I have no way of predicting the menu id for the “first” item.
