I have the same issue as stated above. I had a 1.2 install, which I upgraded to 1.5.
Unless I turn off the Blacklist, all comments are marked as spam/nuked.
The code is doing some kind of check, as there is a discernable delay (I assume whilst a check is being performed) between submitting the comment and the page refreshing. When the blacklist is turned off the page refresh is much quicker.
I don’t feel like I’m an isolated incident 😉
My host machine isn’t running BIND or a proxy. It does have reverse DNS set up though (it’s a secured mail server – no relay there).
