I tried reaching out to Google Merchant Center’s customer support, but they ultimately just rerouted us back here with almost no additional feedback. They basically just said it wasn’t due to a bug in GMC itself and that they couldn’t help, though they at least seemed to imply that the API call was originating from something in WooCommerce (and not something from their end).
I was starting to get a bit frustrated by this point, but I did some more research and found the instructions for how to fully disconnect all the Google accounts from the plugin, then reconnect it all again to reinitiate the plugin’s setup procedure. I saw a few other people had success fixing their syncing issues that way, so I figured it was worth a shot. Didn’t really expect it to work though, so I spent half the afternoon looking up how the Content API is supposed to be configured, and was working on a way to send out my own API call via shippingsettings.update that would resubmit our correct shipping settings again.
… But when 4:00 PM hit again today, our settings didn’t reset anyway. So I’m guessing that the GMC disconnect/reconnect may have actually solved it for us. I’ll report back if that isn’t the case tomorrow at 4:00 as well.
I don’t recall updating any plugins on the 17th specifically, just mostly did prep work on a product template for a new brand we intend to carry. WooCommerce’s UPS Shipping plugin had an update on the 15th, but I don’t think that’s related since the GMC policies were still active on the 16th (and the first entry for ‘shippingsettings’ in the API Diagnostics wasn’t until the 17th anyway).
In the following pastebin link, it’s worth noting that the list of active Google API’s only showed two being active at the time the log was generated for some reason, but now they’re all active again as of a few minutes ago, except for ‘Products MC Push’ and ‘Shipping MC Push’ (those two haven’t been active at any point I checked it in the last 5+ days).
- Technically our shipping tab is separate from the settings on our Google for WooCommerce plugin page (v3.4.3), with the shipping settings accessible via Marketing → Google for WooCommerce → Shipping. Under the Shipping tab, there is no separate option to Sync shipping rates, just the options to:
- Automatically sync my store’s shipping settings to Google.
- My shipping settings are simple. I can manually estimate flat shipping rates.
- My shipping settings are complex. I will enter my shipping rates and times manually in Google Merchant Center. (this 3rd option is the one we have enabled)
- Correct – the automatic Shipping Updates option is still shown as disabled under Products → Automations in GMC.
- There don’t appear to be any consistent or obvious log entries around 5:00 PM CST (now 4:00 PM CST due to daylight savings) that it could be attributed to. There were a few days where periodic updates to product statuses or category mappings were logged around that time frame, but there were multiple days where those updates took place 3 to +4 hours earlier and the shipping still reset around 5:00 PM anyway.
However, I just noticed in the log for October 17th that the following error was logged 9 times between otherwise successful updates to product category mappings:
Error:Automattic\WooCommerce\GoogleListingsAndAds\Product\ProductSyncer::validate_merchant_center_setupCannot push any products because the syncing feature has been disabled on your store.
I did a search of the logs and that’s the only day that error occurred, which also coincides with the start of when the shipping rates began to be over written daily.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WooCommerce] wc_get_related_productsI’m getting the same error and also have Divi.
I temporarily disabled the ‘Related Products’ module on our primary product page template and I haven’t had it log any further errors since, so something in the new WC update broke the Divi module for related products.
