Thanks for the answer.
Actually, I found a workaround yesterday, which is using a multilingual extension. It gave me the ability to change the displayed text without having to mess with the event submission template.

As a matter of fact, that very same draft appears in my sharing queue for tomorrow.
I don’t know if it may influence the plugin behavior, but FYI translations (not shared with ROP) of that post in Spanish and French are published, while only the English version is currently a draft. Using WPML for translation.
