Hi Tobias
Thank you so much for your swift reply. I had not noticed that the wp_footer function was missing, and having restored it, the plugin is now working correctly 🙂
Thanks again for your help!
BenYeah, unfortunately I wasn’t able to fix the problem with Post Snippets – I tried reverting WP to a previous version, fully reinstalling Post Snippets, and checking whether the issue was an incompatibility with another plugin – but ended up having to use a different plugin (Shortcoder) which achieves a similar result, albeit in a slightly less neat way.
So my recommendation would be to not update WP until Johan (or others) confirm the plugin is fully compatible.
Good luck!
To those having issues, are there any special characters or html in your content? Have you tried deactivating the the snippets one at a time to see if it’s one in particular? Or does it even throw off the error if there are no snippets active?
The issue I’m having (which I believe is the same as has been mentioned earlier in the thread) is that the plugin won’t actually activate from within the plugins section of the WP admin panel.
In my case, the whole site went down when I updated to 4.5.2… I then removed all the plugins from the site via ftp (which restored the site) and tried reactivating them one by one: the only plugin that refused to reactivate was Post Snippets.
The pages that include Post Snippets shortcodes all still appear, but just show the raw snippets code (for example http://saltofthesound.com/inspiration/christian-meditation-music/ – scroll down to the body of the article to see what I mean).
Hope that explains the issue a little further!
Hi Johan
I am also having this same Parse Error issue when trying to (re)activate the plugin, which up until updating to 4.5.2 was working perfectly.
Strangely, I tried re-installing WP 4.4.3 but Post Snippets still would not activate…
Thanks for the plugin, and I appreciate you looking into this,
Ben
