In reply to: Can't Make Changes to Any Old Posts after Upgrading to 3.1.2RESOLVED.
I went into my cpanel, looked at the SQL options, saw something to check the SQL database, it found an error, and then I ran the repair, and BOOM, problem is solved.
Yea!
Thank god.
Thank you for your assistance Curtis.

In reply to: Can't Make Changes to Any Old Posts after Upgrading to 3.1.2Does this sound like a problem the SQL database to you?
Would it make sense to do a restore of the SQL database for this WordPress user if my host has a copy of it before the SQL server went haywire a couple days ago i.e. before these problems surfaced?
Also, is that an inherently risky proposition? I know nothing about SQL so I’m frightened at tampering with it.

In reply to: Can't Make Changes to Any Old Posts after Upgrading to 3.1.2Hi Curtis,
Here’s what I did and what happened:
Make a back up of my posts and pages using the wordpress export option. Also made backup of my home directory and thr wordpress sql user via my web hosting account (host gator.)
Created new WordPress install on a new TEST subdomain.
Imported everything, uploaded same theme – problem is NOT present.Deleted all posts from actual site.
Imported all posts, pages, etc.
Only 34 out of 197 came through. The rest were received with “this post XXX already exists.”Went to the Trash in WordPress and restored all my posts.
Problem is still present.
Any ideas on what to do next?
Again, many thanks for your time and help on this.
