I was so glad to find this thread as the problems are the exact same as I’m experiencing. However, even following the great step by step guide by bradleysue, the new site still says There are no backup files to use to complete the migration. Please start the migration using WordPress Move on the server you want to migrate from.
I’ve changed the path on the old site to /preview/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-move/backup/, or /preview/ or /preview/backup but no joy. (Preview is the directory in which the wordpress installation sits)
I’ve tried manually uploading the backups into any of those directories, but each time the ‘Restore’ part of the script on the new server fails as it says it can’t find any backups. Is this because it’s not in the root of the FTP share? (i.e. in that /preview/ folder?)
Pulling my hair out here… and there aren’t many left. 🙂 Any help would really be appreciated. Cheers!
