We arent really convinced its bots, because (for example) today it has counted 26 hits in less than an hour.
We will do more digging and I will let you know if we find an answer.

The only real problem is that we use the counter to show the most popular articles on the site, but unfortunately, articles to do with Cats from 2008 keep jumping to the top of the list.
Thanks Hugh. It is odd, because we had just one post that had a huge amount of hits, from 2008. We could not work it out, so we removed the post. Then, another post showed with a huge amount of hits. All other hits are ranking correct.
Both articles are really old, 2008, and the only other thing they had in common, was that both the articles are to do with ‘cats’ and have cats in the title and post.
Dont know if that makes any difference to your answer?????
