Ok, this will be the same caption field that FSM plugin uses? I hope there won’t be a conflict?
Captions are displayed at the bottom of an image not next to the image?
The alt.text FIFU is showed by hovering over the featured image but isn’t visible beneath the image right?
5.2.5 installed and you’re right FIFU and FSM are not compatible, when inserted a Google link in FIFU, FSM dissappears, but I don’t know why because it worked for years.
Preview is back.
Last update of FSM Custom Featured Image Caption was 8 months ago.
I’ll have to use both if I don’t want to lose all my captions inserted with FSM.

I’m sorry for the stupid questions, but I’m not a coder/dev to understand exactly what is going on.
But if there’s a possibility to merge the caption fields so I don’t need FSM anymore, that would be a plugin less what’s always a plus I guess.Thanks for FIFU!

But the FSM field works with both, local and FIFU remote GD image links. I use this for a long time now.
When this field suddenly disappeared isn’t exactly clear to me. Since which version of FIFU?
Could you create a little bigger space for Alternative (Captions) Text field like FSM please?
And the big question is, will this Alternative Text field be backwards compatible with the FSM caption field and keep my captions inserted with it for both local and remote featured images, so I don’t need FSM plugin anymore?I don’t have the knowledge to do that, sorry
