Steps to replicate:
1. On homepage, it shows all the latest posts.
2. Select only the custom taxonomy filter i.e. Language and click on filter button (all other filters should not be selected).
3. The left sidebar is no more appearing; though the filter results appear.

I am not sure if I am missing anything, the snippet didn’t work.
1. Installed code snippets plugin
2. Create new snippet; paste the php code
3. Set “Run snippet everywhere” and save
4. Activate the snippet
